Beyond the role of load bearing

The design studio aims to introduce to students the meaning of structures in architectural design. Beyond the role of load bearing, structures can also attribute to characteristics of architecture, like forms and space. The design task is an activity center for exhibitions, cafes,music performances, or gyms. Students started the design by choosing architectural functions from the ones mentioned before, selecting a structural prototype that can reflect their architectural concept, and a site from three given ones.
